Create Baltimore

What: CreateBaltimore is a participant-created conference for artists, cultural workers, entrepreneurs, and technologists interested in building a creative community in Baltimore.

Where: MICA - Maryland Institute College of Art - Falvey Hall - The Brown Center - 1301 W. Mount Royal Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland.

CreateBaltimore is for artists, coders, crafters, curators, designers, entrepreneurs, hackers, connectors, activists, makers, educators, museum staff, performers, tinkerers, writers, and others who want to work together to enrich life in Baltimore.

When: Saturday, January 15, 2011, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

If, like me, you're interested in supporting arts and culture in Baltimore, this looks like it could be a useful conversation. While there is any number of directions this discussion could take, I'm hoping that attendees and speakers address a couple of issues that have been on my mind of late: a) economic sustainability and b) inclusiveness of the emerging arts scene.

More on those coming up.
